Summer has come and gone and the
craziness continues but we love it! Avery and Owen are a great team! They have
been so funny together and separate, it is awesome! Owen is always happy and
you can tell in his eyes. His eyes say everything! He is bright-eyed 100% of
the time but when Avery comes around it is 110%. They love giving kisses to
each other, sharing toys and food, “racing” at crawling (not quite yet for Owen
but soon), and being with each other. I love that they are so close together in
age; it is hard but so rewarding! They will be best friends all growing up and
into adulthood.
I am watching kids on Tuesdays and
Thursdays now. My nephew 5 months on Tuesday and my neighbor’s kids 5 month, 3
year, and 5 year old on Thursday. It has been fun to watch Avery grow and learn
from the others and Owen attack the 5 month olds ;). He goes after their faces
all the time. Dave is at Hill Air Force Base and enjoying the engineering that
he is doing now.
Owen has almost completed his 8th
month with us and is growing leaps and bounds everyday. He LOVES food and eats
just about everything that we eat. He enjoys feeding himself and being with us
at the dinner table whenever we are eating. Our table is not big enough. He
sits in his bumbo in the center of the table and the food has to be so far away
from him and he has a large reaching span. He is always on the go. He is a
belly scooter backwards and almost crawling (guessing 2 weeks). He is so small
compared to the other babies his age but growing so fast!
Owen this month
- He has started sleeping through the night!!!! 8:30 – 7:30
- Stays awake longer 2-2.5 hours
- Takes 2 solid naps 2-2.5 hours and occasionally a cat nap in the evening
- Puts himself to sleep for naps with his blanket
- Loves food especially ice cream
- Wears size 3 diapers
- Wears a few 3-6 month and 6-9 month clothing
- Has a high pitch scream when he talks occasionally
- Avery says mommy my ears hurt
- Loves the water! Tub time could last an hour if I let it.
- Almost crawling – has moved right arm/left leg grabbed the toy and dropped
- Likes to pull himself up and stand on his knees
- Scoots backwards on his belly
- Rarely rolls over but happens in the crib usually
- Loves to be with everyone
- Gets super excited when Daddy comes home
- Started favoring Mommy over anyone else
- Puts everything in his mouth
- Smiles constantly and with his eyes
- Loves to be with other babies but tends to attack when they first meet
- Loves animals – went to a petting zoo this month and LOVED it!
- Loves to go down slides and swing in the bucket seat
- Loves to sing and be tickled
- Truly is a delight to have around and love by everyone
