Garage Sale - Adoption Fundraiser

With the help of many, Dave and I had a huge family yard sale for a fundraiser for adoption. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful, loving, and giving people in our ward and family friends. We were given tons of donations to sale. We started gathering items about two weeks before the sale. As a result of this, the garage was taken over with clothes, dressers, kid toys, bikes, candy machines, and lots lots more. I wish that we would have taken pictures. I honestly believe that we had the amount of four or five regular yard sales. Our motto for the month was "We are so blessed!" As I sorted, cleaned and organized everything that is all I said to myself. We were amazed by the love that was shown.

We originally planned having the sale Saturday morning only, this changed due to the amount of stuff that we were given. With the help of Poppie, Becky and the girls, we started setting up Friday afternoon about 1pm with the plan of starting to sale at 4pm. We were wrong. The minute we started bringing items out, people started to come, it seemed as through it was by the dozens. There were people everywhere. It just amazed me. We are so blessed.

It took the majority of the sale to get everything out of the garage so we decided to cover it all with traps. Luckily our good neighbor Bert had a huge trap the covered the majority of the tables. This made it easier to get started early the next morning at 6am. Once again people by the dozens. People that came Friday came again Saturday bring friends along because we were getting new stuff all day Friday and Saturday. There were phone calls that were heard telling people that they need to come because we had some great stuff. People were leaving with garbage bags full of nice clothing at 50 cents a piece. Back to school shopping is done. We have such a great community.

Our families were amazing. Becky and Karla were the best sales women. Kari, Holly and our moms were the organizers of clothing. My siblings put up the signs and did lunch for everyone. I was amazed at how well all eight kids did. They loved finding surprises and treasures. We could not have done it without them. Thank you!!!

One o'clock came and we were exhausted. There were still people coming as we were cleaning up.  If you were to look at what we still had left you would have thought that we did not sale a single thing. This is not true. We got big item deliveries all day Friday and Saturday. We sent items that would not sale to the DI and put most everything else in my dad's gray utility trailer and half the garage. The next Saturday we did the same thing.

We were all very excited for the turn out and all the support of the community. We were all very excited that it so over too. Dave and I are so very grateful for our family. We are so blessed to have family that are so willing to give up their weekend to help us and support us. We are so blessed to living in a giving community. Thank you all for your donations and most of all for you support! Thank you for allowing me to see how blessed we are.
